In a conference call today with analysts, Infosys’ interim CEO and MD Pravin Rao said clients were comfortable once they were given reassurance of continuity of strategy after Nandan Nilekani took over as Chairman last month.
“Company is seeing good demand for engineering services while energy continues to be soft and retail continues to struggle,” he said.
The management wanted to tell analysts about demand and business weeks after previous CEO Vishal Sikka had quit the company.
Rao further said that “telecom players are cautious on topline and bottomline”.
He doesn’t expect spending from energy to come back this year.
He said the IT giant already started process of hiring more in US and that net addition is 30% lower than previous year.
