Honda Motorcycle Scooter India (HMSI) leads the scooter segment in the country and will soon introduce a new model to further consolidate its lead. The two-wheeler maker has announced the new Honda Grazia that has been described as an ‘Advanced Urban Scooter’ for the metropolitan cities and is targeted at a younger customer base. Bookings for the new Grazia will commence from October 25; whereas images of the new scooter have made its way online revealing the all-new model. The Grazia will be available for bookings at company dealerships for a token amount Rs 2000.
The Honda Grazia include alloy wheels, front disc brake with Combi-Braking System (CBS), telescopic front forks and a dual-tone paint scheme. The scooter will also come with a revised instrument console with a digital display, slightly different from the current set of units seen on Honda scooters. A small storage space will be available left-hand side. Also, expect to see the option of USB charging keeping up with modern times. As stylish as it sounds, the new Honda Grazia looks urban and upmarket. While the engine capacity has not been confirmed, the model is likely to draw power from a 125 cc motor (shared with the Honda Activa 125), while the sharp lines lend an edgy appearance to the model. The spy shots also show a wider looking apron and foot-board on the scooter.
As a 125 cc offering, the Honda Grazia will be locking horns with a host of scooters on sale at present. The model will be competing against the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Vespa VX 125 as well as the Mahindra Gusto 125. There is a rumoured 125 cc version of the Aprilia SR150 also said to be in the making and will be targeted at a similar audience as the Grazia. With respect to pricing, the Honda Grazia is likely to be priced around Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom), a slight premium over the Activa 125.
